The state's Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs is kicking off a second round of the wood stove change-out program.
It allows residents with wood stoves that are outdated to apply for a rebate to buy a new more cost-effective stove.
The initiative first started in December and was so popular that the state used its $100,000 worth of funding in less than two weeks.
The state announced Friday there is $800,000 more in funding to keep the program going at West Springfield's Fire Side Designs.
"It's good for the environment, it's good for the homeowners' bottom line in terms of their finances and it's good for the local economy because they're buying it at stores like fireside designs," said Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Rick Sullivan.
Experts say wood stoves made before 1990 should be replaced.
