Cleveland Police, Fire and EMS all responded to a call around 1:18 p.m. to find a 6-year-old girl suffering from a severely traumatic injury to the face and head.
A 23-year-old Cleveland father is now charged in the shooting death of his child.
6-year-old Nevaeh Benson died Saturday at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital after suffering a serious injury to the face and head. Police say it appears the girl may have suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face.
Her father, Edmund Benson, has been charged with Child Endangering and Having Weapons While Under Disability.
He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
