SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -
A local family was forced out of their home after a fire tore through overnight. It happened in the 4600 block of Sheringham Lane in Sylvania just after 3 a.m. Monday.
The family who lives in the house says they were using the chimney earlier in the evening and that may have started the fire.
Investigators do not have an exact cause yet.
No one was injured.
Crews were at the scene for several hours and had to tear the home apart in order to put out the flames.
The second floor of the house has extensive damage. The family will not be able to return to their home until it is determined safe.
