HOLLAND, OH (Toledo News Now) -
The
Springfield High School drama club is hosting their second annual rummage sale
this Friday and Saturday.
Hundreds
of items –electronics, games, sports gear, clothing and furniture – will be
available. All items were donated by district teachers, families, and the
public.
The
sale will be open to the public, and money raised will go toward the club and
the kids themselves.
"Each
student that works the sale, they're earning money for their own personal drama
club account," explained Kory Meinhard, drama club advisor. "That money they
can use to go to educational conferences throughout the year, other…opportunities
like going to see performances that otherwise would be cost prohibitive – this allows
them to earn the money to do that."
Last year, the club raised about $1,500 and
each student was able to put about $150 into their drama account. They hope to
raise even more this year.
The
sale takes place Friday, January 25 from 4-6 p.m. at the high school, and
Saturday, January 26 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
