More than 400 families came out to the Toledo School for the Arts on Saturday for an open house.
The school has a college preparatory curriculum with a focus on the visual and performing arts. The school is for grades 6 through 12 and is tuition free.
Students are chosen from a lottery drawing that will take place in February.
"In the past we've left probably about 100 students a year on a waiting list and this year we've decided we could really make an effort to expand the high school portion that allows us to expand some programs and certainly fill some seats in some of the advanced classes that we have available," said Martin Porter, Director of the school.
Applications will be accepted through February 6th.
The Toledo School for the Arts has been rated "excellent" by the state for the past 7 years.
