The Fremont post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms 53-year-old Kevin Shanks of Tiffin was killed in a two-vehicle crash.
It happened at approximately 4:45 p.m. Sunday on State Route 53 near County Road (CR) 6 in Seneca Township.
Troopers say Shanks was driving a Toyota Prius on CR-6 when he failed to stop at the intersection. He hit a tractor-trailer driven by 61-year-old Keith Doliboa of Eaton, OH. Shanks died at the scene.
The tractor-trailer went off the road, hitting a sign and a tree. Both Doliboa and his passenger, 48-year-old Donna Back of Camden, OH, were uninjured.
Seatbelts were used by all involved.
The crash remains under investigation.
