The baby was transported to Magruder Hospital, where the baby was pronounced deceased.
Detectives are currently investigating the death.
anytime with a child's death, we always want to make sure that we have the
cause of death pinned down," explained Ottawa County Sheriff Steve Levorchick. "Also, there were some inconsistencies that we just
want to make sure that we cover all the bases and make sure that if the child's
death is natural causes that we can prove that, or if there is another factor,
we want to make sure we can prove that then."
An autopsy will be done by the Lucas County Coroner's Office, possibly Wednesday.
