The Wood County sheriff is warning residents that a pair of scammers gained entry into a Pemberville home and robbed it.
It happened in the 5700 block of Alexander Road. A man posed as a utility worker and convinced the home owner to let him in.
While he distracted the home owner, a second person entered the home and stole items.
When the person living in the house asked for ID, the man said it was in his truck. He went out to get the ID, but instead drove away.
The sheriff says only one house has been hit so far.
