Northeast Gaming Group suing Peter Picknelly

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A group that owns land in Palmer hoping to build a Mohegan Sun casino is suing Springfield businessman Peter Picknelly.

Northeast Gaming Group filed the lawsuit against Picknelly and Penn National Gaming for damages claiming Picknelly broke his responsibilities as an invested partner in a plan for a Palmer casino.

The suit claims Picknelly invested $500,000 in the Palmer project five years ago as a "partner," but Picknelly denies he's a partner and claims he no longer has any ties to the Palmer proposal.

CBS 3 Springfield has reached out to Picknelly for a response on the lawsuit.

Picknelly and Penn National are partners hoping to build a casino in Springfield's north end.
