Important storm information issued by state

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

The National Weather Service (NWS) has provided the information above related to the major winter storm that will impact the area starting Friday afternoon.

The updated forecast calls for the heaviest snow to move into Massachusetts starting at 2 p.m. In addition, the NWS had increased snowfall forecast for areas within the Interstate 495 belt to more than 24 inches.
