TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
The Lucas County Land Bank
is now in possession of the former Caesar's Show Bar on the corner of Jefferson
and Ontario.
The building is showing
signs of decay, and poses a public safety threat due to bricks and other pieces
of the exterior that have been found on the sidewalks nearby.
County Treasurer Wade
Kapszukiewicz said the Land Bank is working with a potential buyer, and a deal
could be finalized in the near future.
The identity of the
potential buyer is currently unknown, but it is reportedly someone with a
history of development projects.
Kapszukiewicz said the
last thing he wants to see happen is the building falling further into decay
and being demolished. He hopes a deal with be closed son so the property can go
back on the tax rolls and be re-developed.
