Under the new proposed
state funding plan, the Toledo Public Schools (TPS) district won't receive
extra funding until 2015, but the district still has programs in place to help
their students succeed.
One mentoring program,
Partners in Education, forges relationships between businesses and schools to

Each student gets two
employee volunteers that mentor and tutor them. Participants say it's a small
commitment of their time, and they feel it makes a big impact.
"My belief, and our belief

Partners in Education is
still looking for more partners to link up with schools and take an active role
in student success. Any individual or business interested can visit their website here.
