TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo police are now taking over the investigation on accusations that a Toledo Public Schools substitute teacher inappropriately touched a young student.

The detectives with the Toledo Police Sex Crimes Unit are looking into accusations made by a Toledo mother that a substitute teacher at Arlington Elementary School inappropriately touched her 10-year-old daughter.

Michelle Chesser says her daughter was getting extra help on homework when her daughter said a substitute teacher cornered her near a desk in a classroom, grabbed her belt, and stuck two fingers down her pants.

TPS officials say that substitute was immediately escorted off school grounds. They say the district is conducting its own internal investigation alongside the Toledo Police Department's.
