TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
So the candidates for Toledo mayor begin to line up.
City Councilman Joe McNamara just declared his intention to run. Other names are being circulated.
This is good. There should be a spirited race for such an important position.
Mayor Mike Bell has imposed a different set of priorities for the city and the region. He has broken the longstanding ties to City Hall that historically provided a limited group of people inordinate access and influence. He has ruffled feathers.
Some of his opponents may view this as a weakness and as an opening to unseat the mayor. I would bet the mayor views this as one of his strengths.
We'll see who's right. It should be an interesting race with clear choices.
