PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -
A senior at Notre Dame Academy is being featured in the
March issue of "Teen Vogue."
Jordan Conrad will have a 2-page spread in the magazine
as part of the "Fresh Face" campaign, put on by designer Paul Frank.
Conrad entered the contest by writing an essay on why she's
a teen role model. She wrote about her extracurricular activities, and
organizations and clubs she's involved in. She has volunteered with the Make a
Wish Foundation since eighth grade, and is a member of Link Crew – a mentoring
club at her school. She's also captain of the cross country team, and plays
lacrosse.
Her essay was one of five chosen for the final round, and
she then participated in a Skype interview before being selected as the winner.
"I've never done anything like that before," Conrad said.
"I didn't really think I would win, either, which is another thing that made it
so exciting, especially when I found out how many girls applied for it. I felt
really lucky that I was chosen."
She won a trip to California for the photoshoot, as well
as a trip to New York City.
The March issue of "Teen Vogue" is currently available in
stores.
