There were no injuries in a suspicious central Toledo house fire early Friday.
It happened in the 1500 block of Macomber Street around 3:30 a.m.
The family who lives in the house was actually staying in a hotel because they were too afraid to be in the home after it was shot at Thursday. A woman and her child were at the hotel when the fire began. The family says her brother had gone back to the home to retrieve some items around that time, so they initially feared he may have been caught in the blaze.
Neighbors say they heard an explosion when the fire began.
The house is a total loss. It was too dangerous for firefighters to battle, so they let it burn out. The city then demolished it.
American Red Cross provided support and assistance to the three adults and two children, including food, clothing, shelter and comfort kits.
A neighboring home, which is believed to be vacant, received minor damage.
Arson specialists are investigating.
