A Whitmer High School student reached out to help victims of child sex trafficking on Sunday.
Josie Schreiber organized a benefit to raise money for the Daughter Project and Rahab's House, two local shelters that assist young victims.
Ms. Schreiber did this as part of a project for her law and order career technical program.
Toledo is one of the top sex trafficking areas in the country.
The event took place at St. Clement's Parish in West Toledo.
There was a raffle, bake sale and T-shirt sale.
People were also asked to bring gifts to give to victims at the shelters.
The event raised over $300 and 95 gifts were collected.
