TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Toledo city council's
utilities committee held a public meeting Monday afternoon to discuss proposed
changes to the water billing system.
The meeting was also to discuss
proposed changes to the water deposit policy, and an upcoming water
affordability study.
The administration has
told council that the proposed change to implement a monthly billing system for
all residential customers would cost the average customer an additional $94 per
year.
"[I don't think] the
proposals are unreasonable," said Councilman Adam Martinez, who made the
proposals. "But I understand there is a financial cost to it. And again, this
wasn't to force the hand of the administration to do something, but to start
thinking long-term and planning."
