HOLLAND, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Ohio schools are learning more this week about the grades they have received from the Department of Education.

School year report cards were released Wednesday, ranking schools based on their overall progress and performance in the last academic year. Springfield schools continue to earn top honors for the fourth year in a row.

This is not the first time the Springfield Local School District has earned the "excellent with distinction" ranking from the Ohio Board of Education, but that does not make the title any less exciting.

Superintendent Kathryn Hott says the ranking can be attributed to the Springfield schools' staff, students, families, and overall community support.

"It's a lot of pride. We have a lot of pride in the accomplishments of our students. We take a lot of pride in how hard our teachers work in order to meet those individual needs and it's a wonderful thing," said Hott.

Hott says in order to keep up their ranking, Springfield schools must continue to work hard, monitor progress for individual students, and set goals.
