TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
A gala was held Thursday
to raise money for the non-profit organization ISOH/IMPACT.
They are still unsure how
much was raised, but the president of the organization, Dr. Linda Greene, said
she thinks it was close to $400,000.
"It humbles me, it makes
me excited, and it's transforming how I feel about people," Greene said. "It's
a continuous evolution of how if you reach out and touch somebody, you're going
to create a chain of activity that will make an impact, that will outlast you
forever."
The money raised will be
matched through a grant donation provided by the Diehl Family Foundation. All
the money will help ISOH/IMPACT build a new facility, which they desperately
need.
The new facility would be
three times the size of their current space, with loading docks, parking space,
and offices. Greene said there may even be healthcare services.
The event was the first
annual Hope Gala, held at the Garden Hilton Inn. There was a silent auction and
mystery raffle.
ISOH/IMPACT comes to
people's aid anytime there is a disaster. They often provide blankets, food,
medicine, and other important supplies to people in need.
