While some college students head to beaches and warmer climates for their Spring Break vacation, a group of Lourdes University students will trade in a week of partying to donate their time to other.
Alternative spring break students left for Honduras at 3 a.m., Saturday.
They are volunteering with Habitat for Humanity for a week.
Organizers say the feeling of helping others is an unforgettable experience.
"I actually went over the summer with the International Samaritans in the same community," said student organizer Mike Lavalley. "It was the driving factor in getting the whole [trip] going."
The students will be blogging about their experience.
