TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
With
state records showing it has generated more than $130 million in adjusted gross
revenue since opening in May of 2012, Hollywood Casino Toledo leaders are
planning to take some of the action outdoors.
Casino
visitors in the near future will soon have another entertainment option: catching
a concert outdoors.
"We've
had a number of free concerts within our H-Lounge," said Vice President of
Marketing Jason Birney. "I'm excited to say soon we're going to announce our
ticket sales and what acts we're going to be bringing to the riverfront. We're
going to run an outdoor riverfront concert series right here."
Birney
said they're also getting a boost from a prestigious rating for the casino's
steakhouse.
"Forbes
awarded our Final Cut Steak and Seafood their 4-star rating. It's the only
4-star rated restaurant by Forbes in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. We're very
proud. Our staff does a terrific job in there."
Speaking
of beefing up business, Rob Socie, owner of the Bulldog Diner in Rossford, said
the casino has done just that for his eatery.
"It's
growing. People are discovering the place and when they do, they're telling
others," Socie said. "It's been nothing but going great since the day it
opened. We're getting better all the time with casino patrons."
Rossford
Mayor Neil MacKinnon said the casino has been a good neighbor.
"It's
an asset. It's just right in our gateway to our central business district and
our downtown. Also their participation in our Rossford Business Association has
been phenomenal."
