TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Police responded Saturday to a disturbance call at a convenience store. Officers said when they arrived, they were assaulted by a woman who is now behind bars.
When they arrived at the Circle K on Holland-Sylvania Ave, police said Theresa Simmons was being disorderly and scaring people in the store. She was uncooperative when an officer tried to calm her down, and when they put her in handcuffs, she "donkey kicked" the officer in the knee.
Officers used joint manipulation to subdue Simmons and get her into the squad car, but it didn't end there. Once they got downtown, police restrained Simmons again for trying to physically challenge an officer.
Simmons is still being held in the Lucas County Jail.
