HANCOCK COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Hancock
County is bracing for several inches of snow expected Tuesday night.
Road
crews are ready to go when snow hits to make sure roads will be safe for
drivers.
"We
have all of our trucks ready," said Matt Stoffel, of the Findlay Public Works
department. "They're fueled, everything's checked in them, and they're ready to
go."
That's
18 snow plow trucks for the City of Findlay. The county itself has 24 vehicles.
Hancock
County Engineer Chris Long said it takes about 3-4 hours to make one lap of a
county road route. So workers will get an early start clearing snow – one crew
will report to work at 3 a.m.
Private
plow companies are preparing, as well.
"This
year is turning out to be more than expected," said Jim Brown, a local plower.
He said his phone will be ringing off the hook once the snow starts
accumulating.
The
city and county have plenty of rock salt thanks to the last couple mild
winters. They said they are nowhere close to busting their budgets on snow
removal services.
