The man involved in the death of a Toledo infant who was then hidden in a freezer in April 2012 has entered a guilty plea.
Judge Myron Duhart's criminal bailiff confirmed Antonio Cervantes pleaded guilty to all four counts against him Monday afternoon. The four counts included involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse and endangering children.
According to court dockets, he was in court at 1:30 p.m.
Cervantes will be sentenced April 23 at 9 a.m. with Judge Duhart.
Police said a landlord who was cleaning out the couple's home on Paine Avenue in east Toledo mid-April discovered the infant's body. The infant was wrapped in a garbage bag and frozen solid.
A few months after the baby was found, the Lucas County coroner determined the child was born alive, and the cause of death was "ligature strangulation and submersion in water." It was then that the coroner determined the child's death was a homicide.
