Cedar Point prepares for return of night show Luminosity - ToledoNewsNow.com: News, Weather & Sports for Toledo, OH

Cedar Point's nighttime show, Luminosity, returns this year. Rehearsals will begin in early May.

Cedar Point issued the following press release:

"Last summer, Cedar Point gave guests the perfect ending to a memory-making day at the park with one of the hottest shows in the amusement park industry - Luminosity! The fun-for-all-ages show promises to be better than ever in 2013 with several new songs and surprises, including a new sponsor – Ohio's own North Coast Container.

"We are excited to partner with an iconic brand like Cedar Point to sponsor Luminosity," said North Coast Container Chairman and CEO Jim Beardsley.  "Cedar Point is more than just an amusement park.  Creating thrilling family memories is a Cedar Point tradition - all of us at North Coast Container have been making memories there for over 20 years.  We're looking forward to elevating awareness of our company and its values through this unique and exciting sponsorship."

Headquartered in Cleveland, North Coast Container is a second-generation, family-owned company that manufactures 55-gallon steel shipping containers.  Established in 1983, they ship over 1.5 million drums every year to companies in the Midwest and beyond.

Luminosity, Amplified by North Coast Container, will feature live performances of "Top 40" hits, fireworks, laser lights, dancing, and singing from some of the nation's most talented entertainers. With more than two dozen performers who sing, dance and flip in front of an ever-changing backdrop, Luminosity ignites all your senses. This over-the-top nighttime celebration will be produced in-house this year and will feature all new songs, costumes, themes and videos and is sure to be a "can't miss show" in 2013!

Luminosity will be performed nightly, Wednesday through Monday, beginning Friday, May 31. 

This year, the park will also debut its latest multiple-world-record-breaking roller coaster, GateKeeper, on the park's Opening Day, Saturday, May 11. GateKeeper will change the landscape of Cedar Point as the track will dramatically fly above the main entrance to the park, passing over arriving guests with rolling flyover maneuvers. GateKeeper joins record-setting legends Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force, earning Cedar Point Amusement Today's "World's Best Amusement Park" for the last 15 years."
