It's been a difficult few
days for the family of the man found dead in Fremont, identified as Damon
Scott had been missing
since January, and his body was identified by authorities Wednesday. Now his
sister says she has found a new appreciation for life.
"I learned a lot out of
the situation," Devon Scott said. "That no matter what you go through, you
never know what the worst is going to be."
After losing her brother,
Devon says she's learned to take advantage of the time given to her.
Scott, 38, lost his wife
and eldest son years ago. Now Devon is sad that her brother's remaining
children won't be able to see their father again.
"They've already lost
their mother when they were kids, of a very serious accident," Devon said. "So
they grew up with no mother and here we complained about life…and now I had no
idea they were going to end up with no dad, too. So maybe people shouldn't
complain and complain and enjoy the time that you have together."
She said her brother was a
devoted father and son, who would make a point of visiting his mother on a
daily basis, and that they all miss him deeply.
"I wish you wouldn't have
left us so quick," she said. "But I'm thankful for all the time we had with
The cause of death is
unknown at this time. Fremont Police are waiting on an autopsy.
