Red Cross assists victims of north Toledo apartment fire

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Red Cross is helping victims of a Saturday morning apartment fire.

Fire crews say the 911 call came in just after 3 a.m., at North Towne Village Apartments, 5725 Silverside Drive, in West Toledo.

The fire was contained to one apartment, but neighbors on both sides of the unit had to be evacuated.

Fire investigators say three kids were in the apartment at the time, but they were able to get out safely.

The Red Cross provided assistance in the form of food, clothing and shelter to the family, including one adult and three children.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
