Some golfers love their course so much they are willing to pay an extra fee just to help keep it open.
Over the weekend, a group of golfers met to brainstorm ideas on how they could help bring more money into the Napoleon Parks and Recreation Department. They came up with the idea to increase membership costs by $50 per year. They took the idea to the Napoleon City Council, which supported and approved it.
The rate increase will go into effect this year and will only impact current members, or those who have golfed at the course last year.
The group of golfers is also looking into the possibility of forming a booster club and holding other various fundraisers.
The Napoleon Municipal Golf Course is scheduled to open April 1.
