years after a Sandusky police officer was killed in the line of duty, his
brothers on the force and others came together to remember Andrew Dunn.
was killed during a shootout in 2011. Reports showed he was wearing a
bulletproof vest, but was hit in an area not covered. He was the first Sandusky
officer killed in the line of duty since 1906.
murder devastated his family, the department, and the city. They gathered
Tuesday in front of the Erie County Courthouse.
chaplain of the local lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police Rob Gardin placed
flowers on the memorial that bears Dunn's name.
