The 2-0 Albany Panthers are in for one of its biggest tests of season when the undefeated Alabama Hammers come to town on Saturday.
The Hammers' franchise has had a resurgence this year with former Georgia Force head coach Dean Cokinos. Several of his Georgia Force players followed their coach from the AFL down to the PIFL level making the Hammers a big time contender this season.
The new additions haven't changed the Panthers approach to Saturday's game, even though Alabama is poised to show the rest of the league that they're up to challenge to take down the two time champs.
Defensive back Damien Daniels said "Nothing changes with our approach. We're taking the same approach as we do every week. We just have to prepare for our opponent and work hard during the week and come out Saturday and be ready to go."
Head coach Lucious Davis said "They want to make a statement that they are a better team that they are here to be champs. We want to make that some statement but we're not going to let them come into our house and just beat us. That's not going to happen."
Game time is 7:30 pm this Saturday at the Civic Center.
