Randy Linn denied withdrawal of guilty plea in mosque fire - ToledoNewsNow.com: News, Weather & Sports for Toledo, OH

An Indiana man appeared in court to withdraw his guilty plea after being charged with setting fire to the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo last fall.

After pleading guilty in December, Randy Linn asked to change his plea in January because he made a mistake and was emotional, depressed. His attorney tried to make the argument that he was insane and incompetent, and tired from working everyday.

Prosecutors, as well as the judge, responded that since he was working, he was competent and took the plea under oath.

The guilty plea will stand. Linn is scheduled to be sentenced April 16.
