Just hours after police released surveillance video of a suspected robber, they made an arrest.
Chicopee police told CBS 3 that Leigha Neiford, a 25-year-old Springfield resident, was arrested early Sunday morning.
They received a look-out from West Springfield police, after they said she attempted a convenience store robbery there shortly before 1 a.m.
Chicopee police spotted Neiford's car on Front Street and initiated what they call a "high risk" vehicle stop.
As of now, Neiford is being charged in connection with an armed robbery at the Pride station on Burnett Road from this past Wednesday, an unarmed robbery of the Shell Station on Grove Street from this past Thursday, as well as heroin possession.
She is being held on $50,000 bail.
Chicopee police said additional charges are pending in both Springfield and West Springfield.
Springfield police told CBS 3 they are currently investigating to see if Neiford could be connected to two early Saturday morning convenience store robbery attempts.
In both instances, they said a white female who was approximately 30 years old showed a box cutter and demanded money. The suspect was successful in one of the two attempts.
