Waterville police have filed a number of charges against the alleged driver of a hit-and-run crash into a garage that occurred Wednesday, shortly before 12:30 a.m.
The driver's Lincoln Town Car struck another vehicle on the Anthony Wayne Trail before traveling off the side of the roadway, where it struck a gas meter and utility pole. The vehicle continued and crashed through the rear wall of a detached garage in the 200 block of Lexington Avenue. Extensive damage was caused to the garage, its contents, as well as the vehicles parked inside. The driver fled the scene with his bumper before officers arrived.
Officers charged Johnathon Bresler, 21, of Waterville, with the following:
-Failure to control
-Leaving the scene of an accident
-No operator's license
-Possession of drug paraphernalia
The charges were filed in Maumee Municipal Court. Bresler is due back in court April 5.
