Woman's history month was celebrated today at the University of Toledo Scott Park campus at the 'Women of the World Symposium.'
Nearly 200 women gathered to hear speakers and attend breakout sessions on topics such as health, how to be a successful entrepreneur and even belly dancing.
The symposium was sponsored by ten area women's organizations and also featured fifty vendors owned by women.
"Our goal with this event is to give women a day that can be just about them. So often women don't take time out of their day to take care of themselves. Today is a day we want to provide that for anybody and women in particular," said Emily Hardcastle of the Women of the World Symposium.
Immigrant and immigration lawyer Margaret Wong was the keynote speaker.
Organizers say the symposium was a success and they hope to make it an annual event.
