A Holyoke woman accused of defrauding the state's Medicaid system pleaded guilty Tuesday to the charges against her.
Miosottis Gonzalez, 25, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud in U.S. District court in Springfield. The state contended that Gonzalez tried defrauding the state's Personal Care Attendant Program, which is funded by MassHealth, the Commonwealth's Medicaid program.
Gonzalez allegedly had friends provide documents which were used to bill MassHealth for services that the state says Gonzalez never provided. The state says Gonzales also signed and submitted false time sheets so she could be paid for services she never provided.
Three other people involved in Gonzalez's case pleaded guilty and were sentenced earlier this month.
