SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -
An effort is underway to improve safety on some Sylvania Township roads.
The township is focusing on upgrading road signs by adding a reflective material to both the post and plaque. Township leaders say this will help make signs more visible, and hopefully remind drivers to follow the signs.
The upgrade will apply to signs that line 130 miles of residential roads, and most of the project will be funded through an ODOT grant.
The township received a grant for reflective material last year, as well. That money was put toward school crossing signs.
The sign upgrade work will start this summer, and should be complete by September.
