Due to severe low pressures caused by a 36" diameter water main break that occurred at 6:05pm on Thursday, April 11th, the Akron Water Department has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for all Akron Water Customers in Fairlawn and Copley.

As a precaution, and in accordance with EPA regulations, those Akron Water Customers residing in Copley and Fairlawn are advised to boil their water until further notice. Additionally, West Akron residents who have experienced low pressure after approximately 6:00 p.m., or West Akron residents that are unsure of whether they have experienced low pressure, are also advised to boil their water until further notice.

Water for drinking or cooking should be brought to a full boil for a minimum of 2 minutes and returned to the proper temperature before use. This advisory will exist until further notice, but for a minimum of 24 hours. Please refer to the media for further updates or call the Akron Water Department at 330-375-2420.
