24/7 Wall St released a list entitled "American's Fattest Cities" Friday. Toledo weighed in at number 7.
The list took several factors into account, including obesity rate, percentage of residents with high blood pressure, exercise habits, poverty rate and education level.
According to the list a full one third of Toledoans, or 33 percent, are obese. Nearly as many, just over 29 percent, suffer from high blood pressure. The report also states 55 percent of Toledo residents regularly exercise, 20 percent live below the poverty line and just 23.5 percent hold a bachelors degree.
The report is based on data published in the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index.
The top three "fattest" cities in America were:
3. Little Rock, AK
2. Huntington, WV
1. McAllen, TX
