TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Toledoans took to the streets on Sunday to help fight multiple sclerosis.
It was the 24th year for 'Walk MS.'
Walkers and runners started off at the University of Toledo campus and made their way through Ottawa Hills before finishing back at UT.
Organizers hoped to raise 365-thousand dollars for research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis. They also wanted to raise awareness.
"I think MS is not a disease that many people really understand very well. Even the scientists have a difficult time understanding it because the symptoms vary from individual to individual. It is a very hard disease to diagnose as well," said Carla Brady of the MS Society, Northwest Ohio chapter.
A record 19 hundred people registered for this year's event.
