A Middle Tennessee State University football player didn't let an ankle injury stop him from helping a student in need Monday at an event for the Special Olympics.
According to our news partners at the Daily News Journal, offensive lineman Darius Johnson had suffered an injury at a game prior to meeting 10-year-old Brittany Eyrich.
Brittany ran in the 100-meter dash before her mother said she got overheated and had a seizure.
Brittany needed to be moved quickly to get the medical help she needed, so the football player scooped her up and ran her to a safe place to get her medicine.
Brittany's mom said Johnson even pulled off his walking boot to run faster with the sick girl.
