TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
With only 10 days until
the Glass City Marathon, local runners say their hearts are heavy for those
affected by the blasts in Boston, but they hope runners will use it as
motivation to lace up together to show support.
"The thing that's great
about runners is that we're all one," said Jeff Taylor. "We're going to reunite
as one and pull together."
Taylor has been helping
240 people over the last 16 weeks for the Glass City Marathon. He says they
plan to lace up, leave fear behind, and pound the pavement even harder – for those
that can't anymore.
"I think this is a great
opportunity for us, as a community, to come together," he said. "The Glass City
Marathon is a great non-profit organization. They've put on some tremendous
events in the past. I know that they've got everything in place…for this to be
a great event here next Sunday."
