The University of Toledo kicked off its 14th annual Earth Fest on Tuesday.
UT's Society for Environmental Education hosted the event, teaching students and the local community how to take small steps to help the planet.
Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22. Events are held worldwide to promote environmental protection.
To encourage locals to be more environmentally-friendly, organizers of Earth Fest offered free bicycle tune-ups through Toledo Bikes, and several other perks for people taking steps to "go green," including the following:

Earth Fest is from 11 a.m. to 4p.m. on Tuesday, at the Centennial Mall on UT's Main Campus, 2801 West Bancroft St.
Other events include live music, local bands, and guest speakers.
Participants can also join a group Yoga exercise, a drum circle, and a lesson on building your own herb garden.
