TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
It is a sign of revival in northwest Ohio, as new home construction resumes at a couple subdivisions.
Developers of the Northwoods subdivision in Sylvania Township and the Wingate Meadows subdivision in Springfield Township have had plans reviewed by the planning commission to revive housing developments which stalled during the recession.
Dan Bollin with Eagle Creek Builders says he never thought when he started building on the Wingate development it would take this long just to get to phase two of the plan, but now that new houses are once again being built, he's able to hire a variety of contractors to work on that construction.
Tom and Trudy Walker, who bought a new home in the Wingate subdivision last year, say they're excited to see new construction to help fill out their neighborhood.
Bollin says orders have not yet reached pre-recession levels, but he says they're heading in a positive direction and gives him reason 2013 will be a good year for local home builders.
