Toledo's Maritime Academy is saying "Don't Give Up the Ship."
That was the theme at this year's Admiral's Ball at One Seagate Center.
Some people dressed in period costumes to commemorate the Battle of Lake Erie.
The ball is the academy's biggest fundraiser of the year.
Students created most of the items being auctioned off. The goal of this year's ball was to raise $80,000.
"We hope to raise $5,000 for our Coast Guard uniforms," said Superintendent Renee Maracon. "We're the only school in the state of Ohio and in the country with permission from Washington D.C. and permission from the United States Coast Guard to wear those uniforms," she added.
The rest of the money will help create a robotics program, and purchase a simulator to start a crane operation program for the students.
