During the month of May, the Toledo Police Department will be conducting a Prom Season traffic enforcement blitz.
Officers will be working on random dates in areas where school proms are taking place.
They are hoping to crackdown on speeding and OVI (operating a vehicle under the influence) offenders in order to keep students safe.
In addition to the extra enforcement for prom, beginning May 23, the national "Click it or Ticket" campaign will begin.
During the Memorial Holiday through June 1, officers will be assigned to various areas throughout the city to look for traffic violators.
Officials say they will focus on areas where there have been a higher number of traffic complaints and accidents in past years.
