Former NFL player to speak with Detroit students

DETROIT (AP) -

Former Detroit Cooley High School and NFL player Lional Dalton returns to the city to speak to boy's about setting goals and preparing for success.

Dalton will take part Friday afternoon in the Neighborhood Service Organization's Youth Initiatives Project at Osborn College Preparatory Academy.

The event is the second in a series of workshops targeting at-risk males and part of a "Grads Not Inmates" campaign.

The Youth Initiatives Project works with young people and teaches them how to become community leaders. It also focuses on violence and substance abuse prevention.

Dalton played defensive tackle for several NFL teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins. He earned a Super Bowl ring in 2000 with the Ravens.
