residents who own a camper, RV, or boat may have to find a new place to park
it, should the current code be changed as planned.
The City of
Sylvania is looking at changing a number of options regarding recreational
vehicles, including seasonal limits and size limits to such vehicles in city
code was written in 1964, and was only changed a few years ago to eliminate a
size limit of 19 feet.
council held a public hearing on the matter Monday, but council members were
left with more questions than answers.
the city code asks boats and RVs to be parked three feet off the property line,
to avoid hindering public safety. Other concerns involving corner lots, side
yard parking, and enforcement all need further definition and research.

"We will be going back and taking a look at what other communities do, how that
fits into what we want here in the City of Sylvania, and then come back with a
delayed action on the matter, and planned a committee meeting for June 3 at
6:30 p.m. to give administration time for further research.
