The renewal of the Oregon City School District levy passed in Oregon Tuesday. The 2 mill permanent improvement levy was for the purpose of improving and furnishing school buildings.
This was not a new tax, but the renewal of one that expires this year.
Another school levy, this one for Bowling Green Schools, failed at the polls Tuesday. The schools were asking for a 6.75 mill levy. The levy failed by about 2,000 votes.
Superintendent Anne McVey says they were only asking for enough money to continue operating schools at the same level they are now.
In Perrysburg, however, a long-debated transportation issue made progress when the city voted to pass a 0.8 mill levy.
