Eleven outstanding high school seniors from Region 2-B UAWfamilies have each been
awarded a $10,000 scholarship for college. The Richard T. Gosser Scholarship
Awards Program awards the scholarships, seven of which will be awarded in the
name of Richard T. Gosser, the late UAW Vice President and Regional Director.
One scholarship each will be awarded in the name of Ruthann Gosser-Harrison,
Joseph Tomasi, Jack Sizemore, and Lloyd Mahaffey.
The awards will be handed out at a luncheon on Wednesday,
May 15, at the Region 2-B, UAW Regional Building in Maumee by Ken Lortz,
President of the of the Scholarship Awards Program.
Including the 2013 winners, 286 students have received
Gosser scholarships. An additional 95 students have received runner-up
scholarships. In all, $1,983,000 in scholarships have been awarded since the
program began in 1962.
